When the sky isn’t enough – A poem on loneliness
Hello lovelies, below is a poem on a loneliness. Hopefully you would be able to relate to it, from some part of your life.
A lonely bird on a mango tree,
Perched in silence, wild and free.
Her nest was warm, the fruits were sweet,
Yet still, her soul knew no retreat.
Her belly full, her wings at rest,
She lived within a woven nest.
But walls of twigs can’t hug the soul,
Nor ripened fruit can make one whole.
She watched the wind dance through the leaves,
Heard distant songs on gentle breeze.
So many birds, yet none to hear
The stories that she held so dear.
No voice to echo pain or pride,
No wings to nestle by her side.
The world, it bloomed — yet felt so bare,
A pop-up play without real care.
She wondered what it all could mean,
In all this life, why feel unseen?
She asked the stars and shifting skies,
And faced her quiet, bold **”Why”s**.
For in her heart, a truth was sown —
Even in flight, one feels alone.
And though she soared through skies above,
She longed for touch, for voice, for love.
